This soft style is a relaxed silhouette. Cut unfinished sleeves, an off-white buttercream color, slight distressing on the collar and bottom hem gives this T-shirt the perfect, worn-in vintage feel.
I created this to immortalize the spirit of the hero's of the Holocaust and the legacy of my Holocaust-survivor grandparents, great-aunts and great-uncles. This painting was created with all my heart to serve as a reminder that it is up to us to tell their stories.
The lips are made up of the faces of the heroes of the Holocaust... the individuals who saved children, saved families, hid Jewish people in their homes, spoke up, fought, worked undercover, helped liberate....
Behind every face is a story, and each story is fascinating, inspiring and truly heroic.
The text on this piece is an excerpt from the Partisan Hymn, "Zog Nit Keynmol" (Never Say)... a song of courage, and resistance, and resilience about the past as well as tomorrow.
It's up to us to make sure that the heroes of the Holocaust are never forgotten.
